Restricted Products

What are Restricted Products?

Restricted Products are those that require prior approval from TikTok Shop to be sold. You may be required to pass a category approval process by submitting documents such as certifications, testing reports, product or package images, and other regulatory documentation.
You may be prompted to provide these when uploading products in the following categories.

Beauty and Personal Care Products

• This category will require sellers to provide specific product details and documents showing the product is safe for customers and compliant with relevant laws and regulations.

❗ Required documentation

• Name and complete address of the seller
• Name and country of origin of production
• Image(s) of packing labels containing all mandatory information required by relevant laws and regulations
• Cosmetic product name, functions and usage instructions
• Size, content, or net weight
• Batch number, expiration date and notification number
• Ingredients and warning/caution statements
• Valid cosmetic product notification issued by Health Sciences Authority
• Other details where applicable

⚠️ Note: The following beauty and personal care products may not be listed.

• Products that have medical claims or applications.
• Products that are prohibited by governmental agencies or contain prohibited ingredients such as mercury, hydroquinone, etc.
• Products that are restricted or recommended for professional use only.
• Second-hand beauty and personal care products.

Home Appliances, Computers, Office Equipment, Phones and Electronics

• This category requires sellers to submit supporting documents to verify that their home appliances, electronic equipment and devices such as stoves, refrigerators, air-conditioners, computers, office equipment, phones and other transmitting devices are compliant with relevant laws and regulations.

Exceptions: Print servers, access control and attendance devices, printers and scanners can be listed by all sellers.

Home Improvement Products and Appliances

• This category requires sellers to submit supporting documents to verify home improvement products such as lights, lighting products, electrical equipment, pest control, and building supplies are compliant with relevant laws and regulations.

Exceptions: beekeeping supplies, garden décor and garden buildings can be listed by all sellers.

Jewellery, Watches and Accessories Containing Gems or Precious Metals

• This category will require sellers to provide information proving their authenticity and/or quality of the product, such as dealer's certificates or test reports.

⚠️ Note: Precious metals over 1 gram that have not been accurately weighted with stamped weighing and measuring equipment and rough diamonds that do not comply with the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme may not be listed.

What happens if I breach these guidelines?

If you are found to violate these guidelines, you may have enforcement actions taken against your account. You should note that repeated offenses will result in more significant penalties.
